Recruiting only for good English schools in Busan, South Korea.

Important Information for New Teachers

Before Signing a Contract, Check:

  1. That it includes one-month severance pay once you complete the contract.
  2. That it includes a return flight once you complete the contract.
  3. The hours or classes allowed per week and per month.
  4. That health insurance is included (mandated by law).

Getting Your Visa

  • Most teachers will apply for an E-2 Visa (foreign language instructor visa). Some will need E-1 Visas if they have a master's or doctoral degree and are teaching at a University. Check our "Visa Process" page for exact details and directions.
  1. Start by getting some of your required documents ready
  2. Accept a job and sign a contract
  3. Mail all the necessary documents to your new employer
  4. Employer will take papers to the Ministry in Busan and get your visa issuance number.
  5. This number will be emailed to you, and you can complete the visa process by mailing or bringing your visa to the nearest Korean Consulate.

Packing for Korea

  • Keep in mind that your apartment will be fairly small, and some basic items from your country can not be found in Korea. For example, deodorant is hard to fined, and you cannot buy most health bars such as Cliffbar or Powerbar. Other items that you want to consider bringing include Tylenol, Advil, Alka-Seltzer, lifting supplements besides protein, and clothing (Korean clothing sizes are smaller than most). We will send you a list of things you might want once accepted.

Once You Arrive in Korea

  • Congratulations! You made it! Now, you need to get a health check and Alien Card. Your employer should help you with this to make it easy, but if not, here's what you need to know:

Health Check

  • This check is quick, painless, and very cheap if you go to the right hospital. We recommend a hospital that specializes in this in Dongnae.

 Alien Card

  • You'll have to go to an Immigration Center in Busan. If you want to call first, dial 1345 from any phone. At the prompt, press 3 for English. They are open 9-6 weekdays. Here is a list of what you need to bring:
  1.  A copy of "Business Registration Certificate"
  2. Original copy of your Health Examination for Employment obtained in Korea - includes TBPE and HIV tests. It is issued by a public health center or hospital.
  3. Passport
  4. Application form for foreign registration
  5. One color photo (3cm*4cm)
  6. KRW 10,000 for Government Revenue Stamp
  7. Make sure you have your apartment address, as they will send you your Alien Card in a week.

Do this as soon as you can (your school will probably do it for you). If you wait too long you (your school) will have to pay a fine.
